Hey, we are 30 lgbtq members living in the Gorom Refugee camp in South Sudan.
Because we are Lgbtq Refugees, we are no longer accepted here. We lost our jobs since we are registered as Lgbtq Refugees, meaning we have no access to work.
This makes our situation in camp is not easy to survive. We hardly get any food or drink, making us starve very often. The temperatures get very hot here, and together with lack of food and drink we often get diseases. If we get sick, there is often no access to medicine.
Above this all, the environment around camp is at war. We often get attacked, leaving our people injured, and even then we do not receive any medicine.
We’re in a shock since we received the news from the government official of South Sudan that we are being forced to evacuate from the camp without any support from them.
Now, matters are much worse. We were given 10 days to leave but we don’t have funds to evacuate us or even funds to rent a house for us. The official stated it very well that any LGBTQ person found in the camp after 10 days will be imprisoned, or even deported.
Please if you’re able help us get some funds for transport or a house to rent to save our lives, we’re in fear of our lives and don’t know what to do next…
Please help us as we are vulnerable and we are lacking basic human needs.
Your money will go directly to us and we can buy food, drink and medication from it.
If we raise enough money, we can evacuate out of camp and hopefully rent a place where we can start a better life.
We thank you so much in advance.
